HOCHTIEF do Brasil is doing its part for the country to achieve sustainable growth and a with lot of power.

With the inauguration of the Irapé Hydroelectric Power Plant in Minas Gerais, HOCHTIEF concluded the activities of the EPC consortium. Currently, it has contributed to the development of the electrical power generation scenario in Brazil by signing contracts for the construction of four Small Hydroelectric Power Plants, fulfilling the needs of customers BSB Energética and BR Distribuidora. With the conclusion of the work in 2007, three of the Power Plants in the State of Goiás and one in Rio de Janeiro will add 108 MW to the current local systems' capacity to fulfill power supply needs.

Recently, in December 2005, HOCHTIEF was chosen as manager of a Hydroelectric Power Plant in Loch Ness, in Scotland, expected to be delivered by the beginning of 2009 and which will have capacity of 100 MW. This contract of 184 million Euros includes planning and complete Turn-key of a 900m dam, underground constructions and power house.

HOCHTIEF also built hydroelectric power stations in Lesotho, South Africa and in China, and is involved in the construction of hydroelectric plants in Iceland and Canada.
